We had fun at South By South West Google Playground checking out a few of their new product launches and prototypes. The Google Chromebook Pixel was one of the bigger debutes this year and the Token team gave it a test drive…

This is one forward thinking piece of gear, it runs on 100% Google Chrome OS and is super simple to use and is self updating. It utilizes the Google cloud based suite of business apps so if your familiar with those products your all set. The new laptop has a 50GB solid state hard drive which doesn’t sound like allot but when you factor in the 1TB Drive subscription you will be covered. LTE service is included with a monthly fee.

The screen is touch enabled, and ultra crisp, the Google staffers assured my it would rival the Apple Retina display. They jammed allot of technology into the screen so it does add some weight overall but still felt good. The form factor is super sleek, feels very solid and they

Overall the Google Chromebook Pixel is really nice laptop that would make even the biggest Apple fanboys drool a little bit. It does needs Internet access to work best, so that may turn a few people off, but with more and more free hotspots, this shouldn’t be a problem.
